Reflecting on a year as Co-head of the Music Club.

As I reflect on my year as the co-head of Nirvana, the Music Club of SCMS Hyderabad, I am filled with gratitude and pride. Under the guidance of our welcoming and supportive club head and senior, Anantha, I had the opportunity to develop my leadership skills, improve my time management, and contribute to the growth of our club.

We organized various events throughout the year that tested my leadership skills such as Open Mic Night, Melody Manifesto, Republic Day celebration, and Firande’s performance. Balancing these events with academic responsibilities has helped me improve my time management skills, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Coordinating logistics, scheduling performances, and handling unexpected notes were a crash course in the organization.

Our head’s mentorship played a pivotal role in shaping this experience. Her guidance wasn’t just about logistics and budgeting; it was about fostering a space for creative expression and open communication. Through her, I learned the importance of inclusivity and the power of encouragement to unlock hidden talents within the club.

The music club was more than just performances; it was a refuge from the academic grind. Here, amidst shared musical tastes and blossoming talents, we fostered a community of kindred spirits. Each jam session, each impromptu practice, became a testament to the unifying power of music. Anantha’s mentorship, along with the experiences we shared, instilled in me valuable skills that extend far beyond the stage.
